Laura&Claire's Advent Calendar - Day 4 - Shopping for Santa!

When you're busy buying presents and eating tins of Quality Street (And then buying replacement tins to pretend it never happened), it's quite easy to forget to buy a little treat for Santa and his trusty reindeer. But fear not as Laura&Claire are here to make the festive season that little bit easier - time to shop for Santa!

1) Mince Pies - You know it's Christmas when Starbucks have got these babies on the menu. But unfortunately for Santa - and us - Starbucks isn't open at midnight on Christmas Eve (We know - scandalous!) so we found the best alternatives for the big guy's midnight snack.
Moving swiftly past the one's in cheap packaging, first up were these classic Mr Kipling goodies. Alway's exceedingly good and the packaging was extra festive.
However, as we're not millionaires and don't really like mince pies, we moved down the shelf to find these extra special Tesco options. Very appealing and about a quid cheaper - sold! Sorry Santa but times are tough.

2) Carrots - Claire - 'Oo I'm excited about the carrots'
Laura - 'That's what she said'

Now we were shocked to learn that some carrots look like potatoes. For example:

And some look like ... well ... this:

But if you want to keep Rudolph happy, we recommed one like this:

FYI - These are not carrots - You will have one sad reindeer if these are left on a plate by your fireplace. And don't think about painting them orange - they're not as silly as they look those reindeer.

3) Sherry - Drink driving isn't advised and we reckon Tesco has picked up on the possibility of a drunken Santa dropping all the presents off his sleigh this year as there was absolutely no Sherry in the whole store! So sorry Santa, but you're getting water, or help yourself to a cuppa if you like.

And then Claire spotted some tomatoes and decided to impersonate Rudolph whilst trying to avoid Tesco staff. Mission accomplished we reckon.

And there you have it - shopping for Santa, sorted!

Join us each day in the build up to Christmas for more tips and useless  trivia.
